The 4th Annual Chili’n on The Avenue

East Tosa Alliance is proud to announce the 4th annual Chili’n on the Avenue. Chili’n on the Avenue is a nationally sanctioned chili cook off taking place on North Avenue in East Tosa, Saturday, September 14th, at 11:00 am. The Chili Appreciation Society International’s mission is to promote chili and raise money for charity. (CASI)

It was a great competition. So much thanks go out to these cooks for participating. They gave out over 2,000 samples of chili + salsa, combined!!

Awards were given in the followning categories: showmanship, salsa competition, People’s Choice, ‘open’ competition, the official CASI (CASI Chili Appreciation Society International) results.

This chili is a meat and gravy only chili and must be judged on the following: Aroma, Consistency, Red Color, Taste, + Aftertaste. Each place has points assigned to it and the cooks who belong to CASI can go on to participate in other national competitions if they have enough points.

Along with the chili contest there were street vendors, bands, fabulous food from our neighborhood restaurants and lots of activities. Everyone had a wonderful time.
